I know it can be overwhelming especially if you are a first time mom/dad, and preparing for a newborn photo session can be quite stressful but it doesn't have to be that way! This is going to be a special moment for you and your family, this is going to a memory that we are going to document their brief moments in life that you will look back on 10, 15, 20 or 30 years. My goal as your photographer is to make this session as memorable as possible and to have the best experience.
Before your session:
- Give baby a warm bath before his/her photoshoot session
- Dress baby in something easy to take off like a zip up onesie or snap.
- Keep your baby awake for at least one hour before the photoshoot session.
- Once you arrive in my studio, take all the time you need to feed your baby.
What to Bring:
- Bring at least one change of clothing, just in case any accidents happen.
- Bring everything for changing and feeding the baby, including any special creams and products you use.
- If the newborn has hair, bring a brush.
- Bring any sentimental item you would like to add into the photos.
- If the baby is using the pacifier, bring that as well. It often helps soothe babies into the poses and facilitates getting them to sleep.
What to wear:
- wear solid colors and avoid patterns so they do not catch the attention from the main subject – the baby. Pick one or two colors and then coordinate different tones of the colors together. For example, you can mix light and dark gray or blue together, or cream/ivory.
- Wear neutrals and soft colors are the best! Avoid Giant LOGOS and high saturated colors
- For parents, siblings- you want to coordinate but please try not to match.
